I have a number of sewing and quilting machines........ well actually I only had 4......... a Bernina Q20 for quilting, a Bernina 570 for general sewing with decorative stitches, a Bernina 735 for piecing - much like the Bernina 570 but with a narrow feed dog, and then a Bernina 700 for machine embroidery.
Now I have 5! I have added a Bernette B08 Straight Stitch......... mainly for binding my quilts. It is semi industrial, so very fast.

I have bought all of my machines from my favourite supplier "The Stitch House" (formerly Bernina Chermside), now located on Graham Road, Carseldine, Queensland.
I am quite impressed. It is a straight stitch machine, no fancy stitches at all, very little electronics, semi industrial for speed. It will be great for binding my quilts, but is also perfect for sewing bags.
There are also two "feet" sets that you can buy - (1) Sewing of fine fabric or leather and (2) Quilting. I have both, the quilting set is interesting with it's free motion quilting options, plus a dedicated 1/4" seam foot.
The other benefit of this machine has been its price! nice and reasonable which has made adding it as my 5th machine financially viable.
