A little meow.......

This one is so sweet.......... and a little different........

love the cat faces

..... the rest of the story

This design is a combination of blocks. I had some cute cat fabric which I fussy cut for the centre squares. The background fabric was perfect as it is cats on both the black and white.

a simple but effect technique

Having made the blocks, I wanted to brighten the quilt without detracting from the images, the combination of blocks or the impact of the black and white.

Working with three borders allowed me to bring in subtle colour, while maintaining the theme by using the black on white cat background fabric in border 2.

Binding the quilt with the white on black cat fabric completed the picture. When I bind my quilts I sew from the back and use decorative stitches on the front.

When it came to choosing the backing, well that was so easy.........

With cute cats on the front it just had to be dogs on the back didn't it......................

cats on the front - dogs on the back
black, white and grey with a splash of colour

The block design itself is a combination of a square within a square block and the pinwheel block I use in the Carnival quilt.

The focus on this quilt was the cute cats!
